Tonight I want to talk about lube.. Basically I decided to write about this because someone I know confided in me that he and his girlfriend are still using baby oil gel in bed as lube, and basically, I cringed... so this is for him lol...
Heres why:
- Most oil based lubes will cause a condom to deteriorate and weaken, therefore increasing the chance of accidental pregnancy and spreading STD's.
- Some substances are not easily washed off, they may leave a less than pleasant residue.
- Some may encourage infection in women, just because its greasy, it doesn't mean you can shove it in there.
Here's the difference...
Water Based: You guessed it, Water based lube is made from WATER, its slippery, slick, and is easily cleaned up, just use a Little warm water and its GONE. The downside is that it will dry up quicker than oil based or silicone based products, but the plus side is that it is 100% condom safe, no matter what kinda condom you decide to use, a water based lube is safe! The most popular water based lubes are KY Jelly, Astroglide, and WET but there are tons out there.
Oil Based: Like I mentioned above, these are baby oil and petroleum jelly, neither are a great idea for use with condoms.
Silicone Based: These are similar to Water based in that they are condom safe and they clean up easier than Oil based lubes, they are thinner than most and are super slick. Unlike water based products, silicone lube will not dry out so theres no needs to keep reapplying (a huge plus) the only downside is that some people are allergic, so be careful when using this. Popular Brands are Wet PLATINUM and Bodyglide.

the lube is great thing for both partners, i think, but like you said nisha u have to be careful the way you use it. sumtimes the condom had lube on it but not enough so have extra on the side. i prefer the water base lube i want to be 100 percent safe with my girl no matter what and i would hope she wuld feel the same way.
I can say I have NEVER used lube (for obvious reasons lmao). But if I were to use it, I would go with the water based. I'm not really with the idea of too many artifical products going inside my cooch...sorry. And like you said, silicone and oil based lubes can cause infections because they can not be removed as easily. To each their own though...
lubes are an improtant commodity to have in the bed room.besides the differents types but also different varities like scented and flavored. this is important because not all lubes are ment for penetration mainly because flavored lubes have sugar in it and can cause infection. from personal experience dont use any red lubes say yourself the images. if you want flavored pony up the few extra bucks and get the non-colored flavored lubes. also dont not by in bluck if your going to use flavored the same taste gets boring..now back to lubes basic use mainly knowing how much to put on is key depending on the type.. water base lubes you have to put a little more on than usually because it drys fast. the other types about the size of a quarter. lube is one of those things where too much of a good thing can go really wrong. so in closing change it up use different brands,types, and varities. enjoy your poking lol
I have some good experience with "lube" and I find it to be great, enhancing sensations, increased pleasure and the most important and fun part everything is super slippery and wet lol. I find it to be one of those things you can't be without, in my opinion.
I can agree with all of the above... like you said Quay to each their own... Usually men want the lube more than the women, clearly wetter is better to them lol..but again, a womans body provides its own wettness..
Great tip about flavored lube Jeremy, I should have mentioned that some flavored lubes do contain sugar which is a huge NO for penetration!
